Best Photography Locations in Northern Colorado

Lory State Park: I love going to Lory for family and engagement sessions because there are so many different landscapes in a small area.  It sits on Horsetooth Reservoir so you have some beautiful lake views, red rocks, pine trees & tall grass.  I think this is a great location especially for the winter months, when you want some pops of color.

Poudre River Trail: This popular bike trail in Fort Collins has some wonderful wooded landscapes and river views.  I love using this location in the summer and fall months because of the beautiful foliage.  There are some fun cattails, tall grasses, dirt trails, and river beds that provide scenic variations too.

Bingham Hill:  This is a great sunset spot that overlooks a beautiful valley and the foothills.  This spot has some tall grass, a buck fence, and some rocks to sit on.  This is a perfect location for a quick session or a spot to end a portrait session at sunset since there isn't a lot of shade or scenic variation.

Devils backbone: This beautiful spot is located outside of Loveland, CO.  There's not a lot of shade but it's a great location for evening sunset photos with beautiful rock formations and dirt trails.

Watson Lake: Watson Lake is located outside of Laporte, CO.  This is a great spot for sunrise and morning photos, the lake borders the Poudre river and is nestled in front of a beautiful red rock ridge.  There is also a walking trail that runs along the Poudre River with lots of greenery and trees.
