When Heidi first called me to discuss their wedding plans, I knew we would get along great as she talked about the many outdoor activities and adventures that she and Chris enjoyed as a couple. Any free time these two get is spent in the mountains of Colorado to mountain bike, ski, fish, and hike. I love how easygoing and adventurous these two are!
Marabou Ranch in Steamboat, CO was the setting for their Colorado mountain wedding. The ranch is serene and breathtaking, with hills of tall golden grass that line the roadsides as you drive in that take you to some of the best fishing in the county with the Elk River meandering through the valley of the property. The ceremony site called the Overlook was the perfect vantage point for views of nearby Elk Mountain and the town of Steamboat Springs.
One (among many) super unique things from this wedding was a log cutting ceremony that Heidi and Chris performed at their reception. This german tradition is meant to symbolize the first obstacle the couple must overcome in their marriage, and Chris and Heidi sawed through that log in no time!
