Fort Collins Lifestyle Family Session at Lee Martinez Park

I adore Northern Colorado family photography sessions, there is something super special about capturing a family just as they are and letting kids be themselves. I like to approach family sessions with a documentary eye, I will get a few shots of everyone looking at the camera and I will give direction where needed, but my favorite photos are the ones where family members are looking at each other with love, or they are barreled over with laughter.

We started this family session at the client’s home in old-town Fort Collins, and then we walked to Lee Martinez Park for some photos by the Poudre River. Julia is an old friend of mine, it was fun to reconnect and meet her beautiful family. I love how she creates a lot of space for her kids to just be kids, they are intentional about not over-scheduling and you can see how carefree and creative their kids are!

Emily and Sean are the salt of the earth kind of people. I love their lifestyle, and how they raise their kids to work hard alongside them and to play even harder. If anyone deserves a double rainbow at their portrait session, it would be them 🌈🌈
